In March, TAIKAI will host the Build on ICP Hackathon, a hybrid hackathon dedicated to the ICP community and tools. If you want to contribute to the future of decentralized technology and challenge yourself while exploring ICP’s tech, this event is for you.

New to ICP?

The Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) is a blockchain network founded by the DFINITY Foundation that empowers builders and developers with the tools they need to create inclusive and decentralized digital infrastructure, without the fear of centralized entities looming over.

ICP not only provides increased freedom but also offers unmatched capabilities for crafting fully decentralized dApps without the limitations of corporate clouds, insecure bridges, and expensive oracles.

The Build on ICP Hackathon

The Build on ICP Hackathon is a 10-day hybrid event organized in the crypto capital of Europe — Lisbon. Taking place from 11th March to 18th March with both online and in-person activities, this hackathon will challenge the best builders to create truly disruptive projects on the ICP protocol.

This will be a unique chance to show your talent and ability to contribute to the IC protocol, while learning from leading experts in the ecosystem and connecting with top VCs. Oh, we almost forgot! There is also a prize pool of €20,000 worth of prizes and unique ICP grants to award to the best projects.

Registrations are already open and you can register by filling out the registration form.

Registration and timeline

The challenge welcomes all builders based in Portugal and Spain who are interested in joining the hackathon and committed to continuing their project beyond the hackathon’s duration.

We invite you to read the eligibility criteria to take part in Build on ICP, and leave you a few important dates to keep in mind:

📨 Registrations are open until 8th March

🎉 IRL Announcement Party in Lisbon on 26th February

🤝 Hackathon Onboarding: 8th — 11th Mar 2024

💻 Online Hacking Phase: 11th-15th March

👥 IRL Hacking Weekend: 15th-17th March

🎤 Final Showcase: 18th March

Prizes

Prizes will be announced on the Showcase day on the 18th of March, and winners will be awarded as follows:

🥇 1st Place: Go-to-market strategy + €2,500 in stablecoins (total value of €12,500)

🥈 2nd Place: PR campaign + €1,500 in stablecoins (total value of €6,500)

🥉 3rd Place: €1,000 in stablecoins

🏃 Winners will also get a chance to receive a grant from the DFINITY Foundation.
