If you’ve created a task but realized there’s something wrong, don’t worry — we got you covered. In this short tutorial, we’ll guide you on how to cancel a task in the Marketplace, and also whether you should edit your task draft or cancel it.
What if you need to cancel a task?
When you create a new task, it is initially saved in ‘Draft’ mode. The duration of the Draft mode is configurable in custom marketplaces, but in the Open Marketplace, the Draft mode lasts for a 24-hour window. During this time, you can make edits to the task details such as adjusting the reward amount, rewriting the information and adding more details to the task. You can also cancel the task.
However, once the 24-hour validation period ends, the task is live and you cannot make any more changes or delete it.

If, for any reason, you decide to cancel a task, you can do so very easily while it’s in Draft mode by following the steps in this tutorial. Let’s see how!
Step 1 — Open the options menu of the task you want to cancel
In the Task Marketplace where you have created the task, you’ll see an “Options” button on the top right corner of the task.
Step 2 — Choose the cancel option and confirm the operation
When you click the “Options” button, you’ll be presented with the options available to you.
Since the task is still in Draft mode you have two options: “Edit Task” and “Owner Cancel”.
If you are sure that you want to cancel the task, simply click on “Owner Cancel” and confirm the operation in your MetaMask wallet.
That’s it!
