As we enter Q4, it’s time to give you an update on the latest release of TAIKAI and what it brings to users.

Let’s explore the improvements and new features that TAIKAI 3.9 brings!

Proof of Participation in private hackathons

The organizers of private hackathons can now give hackathon participants the chance to mint a PoP at the end of the event. When we rolled out the PoPs, they were initially limited to public hackathons but now with the new feature, organizers can decide whether participants of private hackathons should have a PoP or not. This feature will allow both public hackathon participants and private hackathon participants to have a token of the hackathon.

Improvements to the UI on the project page

We’ve made several improvements to the process of uploading attachments to the project. Now, the user can automatically upload all video and images into a single gallery which is displayed at the top of the project page.

Support for Loom videos when uploading project files

We already supported a wide range of video platforms including those from YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, Twitch, and more. Users simply had to add the direct link to the video file, regardless of its location, and the video would be displayed on the project showcase page.

Loom is a very popular tool for recording demos that does not provide video links. This prompted many users to request the possibility of adding embedded videos to the projects which became available in the version of TAIKAI.

Hackathon feedback form

Another update to the new version is the display of a feedback form at the end of hackathons. This form allows participants, organizers, juries, and mentors to leave their feedback and improvement suggestions for TAIKAI’s development team. This valuable input will help us continuously enhance the platform and incorporate requested features.

Deposit and withdraw improvements based on beta testing feedback

The Beta Testing of the $TKAI token Withdraw and Deposit feature was concluded last month. The feedback collected from testers allowed us to identify a few bugs of minor importance which we addressed and fixed in the new version of TAIKAI to deliver a better experience to the user.

Security improvements

With each new release, we implement additional measures to ensure the integrity of our platform, especially now, given the long-term roadmap we have laid out with the TAIKAI Garden.

TAIKAI’s commitment to security has recently been recognized with a perfect 10/10 score in a Web Application Security Assessment performed by Hacken. You can read the full report with detailed information about the assessment here.

Voting tracks

In the previous version of TAIKAI, there could be several voting moments, but there could never be two or more votings taking place in parallel — the votes could only be accumulated from previous votings.

Our experience has taught us that different types of challenges require different voting mechanisms, so for the new version we reworked the voting system from the ground up to accommodate any type of vote desired by the organizers.

Now, a hackathon can have one or more global voting tracks, where projects compete against each other at different moments during the hackathon, or it can have solo voting tracks where different projects compete for different goals, offering more flexibility for organizers and juries.

Performance improvements

This new release has also brought many performance enhancements. The code was optimized and the front-end fine-tuned to deliver a better and more seamless experience to the user at different levels.

What’s next for TAIKAI?

The latest release of TAIKAI has brought new features and various improvements to the platform. Security has always been a priority in TAIKAI’s mission, and we take pride in achieving such a significant recognition for the platform’s security. We’re also excited about the new features introduced to the platform, which comes from a collaborative effort between our development team and our valued users.

We’re dedicated to creating a product that not only meets your expectations but surpasses them. As we continually evolve and improve our platform, we thank you for your continued support and invaluable feedback.
